About Lion Park
Lion Park was founded in the 1970’s by the Bristow family, who still own it today. Set amid towering balancing rocks that define the unique Zimbabwean landscape, this stunning reserve captures the beauty of our beloved country. Come as a day guest with no prior booking and enjoy wildlife viewing from the comfort of your own vehicle and discover ancient bushman rock paintings, considered to be over 5,000 years old.
As well as the game park self-drive, you can visit our kiosk and take a guided walking tour around the animal enclosures to meet rare white lions, tawny lions, wolves, jackal, monkeys, warthogs, and bush pigs, many of whom have been rescued from snares, traps, and the illegal pet trade. Where possible we offer a home to “problem animals” that would otherwise be killed.
After standing face to face with a lion, tuck into a tasty lunch at the Shumba Café, visit the gift shop and let the kids burn off energy in the playground. This exciting day trip is educational and accessible to everyone of all ages and backgrounds.
After your visit to the Lion Park, why not head to our neighbouring property "Snake World" to meet an array of amazing reptiles like crocodiles, snakes, chameleons and monitor lizards. Find out about their biology, management and why their conservation is so important to human health.
